Nevada Birthday Rule: A New Way to Compare Medicare Supplement Plans
Is Your Birthday Month Coming Up?
|
Nevada Birthday Rule for Medicare Supplement Insurance
Your birthday month may give you an opportunity to compare Medigap rates and possibly lower your premium — with no health questions required. Because Medicare Supplement rates can change over time, you may be able to save money while keeping the same standardized Medigap plan benefits. For example, if you currently have Plan G or Plan N, we can help you compare other Plan G or Plan N options available in Nevada. It is easy to find out. Complete the request form, and we will review available Medicare Supplement Insurance options in your area and send you a plan comparison sheet showing plan choices and monthly premiums. Request a Medicare Supplement policy comparison today. To many of us do not review our Medicare Supplemental Plan monthly costs. You may be surprised at the possible increase your Policy has taken. About Medicare in Las Vegas
I began my insurance career in Illinois in 1993 and moved from Chicagoland to Las Vegas more than 20 years ago to continue building my business and serving the local community. Since becoming a Nevada resident insurance producer in 2005, I have worked with individuals, families, employers, HR departments, and community organizations to help explain Medicare and health insurance options in a way that is practical and easy to understand.
Over the years, Las Vegas has become more than just the place where I do business — it is my home. I have been active in the local business community and involved with local chambers of commerce, which has helped me stay connected to the needs of Nevada residents, business owners, and employer groups.
My industry experience is important, but I also understand Medicare from a personal perspective because I am a Medicare beneficiary myself. That gives me a real-world view of the questions people ask, the confusion they may feel, and the importance of reviewing coverage carefully.
As Director of Medicare in Las Vegas, my goal is to be a trusted local Medicare resource for the community — not just during enrollment, but throughout the year when questions come up about coverage, plan changes, prescriptions, doctors, or how Medicare works in real life

Frequently Asked Questions
Medicare Advantage (Part C) is an alternative way to receive Medicare benefits through a private insurance carrier. Medicare Supplement (Medigap) helps cover costs that Original Medicare does not pay, such as copays and deductibles. The right choice depends on your doctors, prescriptions, budget, and lifestyle.
Most people enroll in Medicare when they turn 65. Your Initial Enrollment Period begins 3 months before your 65th birthday month and ends 3 months after. Missing this window may result in late enrollment penalties.
Nevada's Birthday Rule allows Medigap policyholders to switch to a plan with equal or lesser benefits during their birthday month each year, without answering health questions or going through medical underwriting.
Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) does not cover most prescription drugs. You need a Medicare Part D plan for prescription drug coverage, or a Medicare Advantage plan that includes drug coverage (MAPD).
