About the Insurance AgencyDavid Karel
Local Medicare Guidance Built Around Education, Not Pressure

As a local Medicare broker in Las Vegas, Medicare in Las Vegas helps individuals, families, retirees, employees, and HR departments understand their Medicare health insurance options. Our goal is simple: provide clear education, compare available options, and help each person make a confident decision based on facts, not pressure.
Medicare decisions are personal.
Every person has different doctors, prescriptions, budgets, health needs, and long-term priorities. When consumers are presented with clear information about Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement Insurance, and Medicare Part D prescription drug plans, they are in a stronger position to choose the coverage that fits their life.

Being Different-Thats Us!

Over the years, I have built my work around a simple approach: educate, do not sell, and be an advisor. Too often, consumers are sold a plan before anyone takes the time to understand what they actually need. Health insurance should not be about pushing someone into a product. It should be about listening, comparing, explaining, and helping people understand their choices.
When a Medicare broker has access to a broad range of options and uses the right tools to compare plans properly, finding the right solution becomes much easier. It is like fitting the correct pieces into a puzzle. Trying to force a square peg into a round hole does not work, especially when someone’s doctors, prescriptions, network access, and budget are involved.
Many agents do not present both sides of the Medicare story. We believe people deserve to understand the advantages, limitations, costs, networks, and trade-offs before they make a decision. Our process is not about selling. It is about matching the right Medicare option to the right person.

 A Personalized Medicare Experience
Anyone can enroll you in a plan. The real difference shows up when you have questions, when something changes, or when an issue needs to be addressed. Too often, people are left calling an 800 number with no local relationship and no one who understands their situation.
Medicare in Las Vegas provides a more personal experience. We work one-on-one with clients, explain options in plain language, and help people understand how their coverage works before and after enrollment. Our clients know who they are working with, and they have a local resource when Medicare questions come up.

Who We Are
Medicare in Las Vegas is led by David Karel, a local Medicare insurance professional with more than 30 years of experience in Medicare health insurance and more than 20 years serving Nevada. That local experience matters. We understand the health plans, doctor groups, provider networks, hospitals, and community relationships that affect Medicare beneficiaries in Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Pahrump, Clark County, Nye County, and communities across Nevada.
David has also been enrolled in Medicare since 2015. That personal experience has helped him better understand the strengths, limitations, and real-world details of Medicare from the consumer side as well as the advisor side. This perspective helps him explain Medicare in a way that is practical, relatable, and easier to understand.
Over the years, Medicare in Las Vegas has helped more than 2,000 clients in the Las Vegas area. We have also worked with HR departments and public-sector organizations to help employees understand Medicare, retirement coverage, and how Medicare may coordinate with employer group insurance.
David has served as a Medicare education resource for the City of Las Vegas and the City of North Las Vegas, helping employees understand how Medicare works and what options may be available when they retire or leave employer coverage. He has also served as an instructor for the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department and as a guest presenter for Medicare 101 community education programs sponsored by the Cities of Las Vegas and Henderson.
These community education programs help new Medicare beneficiaries understand how to get started with Medicare. The information presented is based on Medicare rules and CMS Medicare resources, helping consumers hear the government’s perspective on the program while also receiving local guidance about how Medicare works in Southern Nevada.

What We Do
We help individuals compare Medicare insurance options one-on-one. This includes reviewing doctors, specialists, hospitals, prescription drugs, pharmacy preferences, plan networks, expected costs, and overall value. Understanding which doctor groups and health plans work together is especially important in Southern Nevada. Choosing the wrong plan can mean being out of network or not being able to see the doctor you prefer.
Our work includes helping people evaluate:
  • Medicare Advantage plans in Las Vegas and throughout Nevada
  • Medicare Supplement Insurance, also known as Medigap
  • Medicare Part D prescription drug plans
  • Medicare options when turning 65
  • Medicare options when leaving employer group coverage
  • Special Enrollment Periods that may allow changes during the year
  • How doctors, prescriptions, networks, and plan costs fit together
We look at Medicare options available in the marketplace and help explain them in an unbiased, consumer-friendly way. We also use current technology to make plan comparisons and enrollments easier to complete and easier to understand.

Consumer-Friendly Medicare Help
Medicare can be confusing, especially when someone is enrolling for the first time, turning 65, retiring, moving, losing employer coverage, or trying to understand whether a Special Enrollment Period may apply. We help simplify the process by explaining what each option means, what questions to ask, and what steps may need to be taken.
You may be eligible to make Medicare changes during the year based on special circumstances. These opportunities are called Special Enrollment Periods. If you think you may qualify for one, we can help review your situation and explain what options may be available.
